Academic Mentor
Truman State University faculty members in the Science and Mathematics & Computer Science Divisions have the opportunity to serve as an Academic Mentor to a transferring community college student as part of The Next STEP Bridge Program. In addition to the student’s academic advisor, each Bridge transfer student is assigned an Academic Mentor. This faculty member provides assistance with academic and other areas so as to ease the transition to Truman. Academic Mentors are encouraged to include their mentee in family dinners and events, as well as other events and activities both on- and off-campus.
