Taught by Truman faculty, the Bridge Week course provides transfer students with a comparable experience to Truman Week, which is an orientation week designed for first-year students.
Transfer students learn about the support services available to them at Truman, opportunities for research, and key information about their chosen major’s degree programs. Transfer students also meet and get to know at least two faculty members who help them adjust to the academic and social challenges that await them. By the end of the bridge week, the transfer students are prepared for the academic challenges that lay ahead, and they have a network of resources, acquaintances, and faculty that help support them.
A Science or Mathematics & Computer Science faculty member, with the help of an upper-level student preceptor, teaches each Bridge Week class; class size is small to promote significant interaction.
