Dr. Todd Hammond
Research Interests
I do mathematical logic, with a research area in computability theory, an area, which among other things studies mathematical algorithms. In recent years, I have become especially interested in the more applied aspects of mathematical algorithms, including applications in mathematical biology.
Biographical Sketch
My BA and PhD are from Berkeley, and then I taught at the University of Chicago for four years in a postdoctoral position (partly funded by the National Science Foundation). I have also developed software at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, where I worked for about four years. I have been at Truman since 1994. My main hobbies and interests these days are my four kids and things I do with them. If you start a conversation about childrens literature, watch out; I may not be able to stop. I am also interested among other things in languages, art, history, music, and gardening. In a former life I was enthusiastic about cycling.
