One of the goals of The Next STEP is to support ongoing efforts to establish interdisciplinary connections between seemingly independent disciplines and courses. Initiatives focus on both defining and implementing curricular changes that provide students with a more cohesive background and a logical perspective on the interrelatedness of the biological, physical, and mathematical sciences. Truman and The Next STEP want our science and mathematics students to be successfully prepared for careers in which multidisciplinary knowledge, skills, and interactions are needed and are the norm, so we have designed programs that include coursework and interactions with faculty that are rich with both an interdisciplinary perspective and the technology/tools that facilitate this.
